Speaking back in 2013, while he was manager of Norwegian side Molde, Solskjaer revealed it was his ‘ultimate dream’ to manage United one day.He said: “I think every player who has played for Manchester United that has a manager in them would have this as their ultimate goal and, of course, this is my ultimate dream.”Solskjaer has transformed the Red Devils’ fortunes following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December. During his brief spell as interim boss, he reignited the club’s top four hopes and pulled off a miraculous 3-1 victory at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League with a depleted squad.Following the record-breaking start to his reign, he quickly emerged as the only candidate for the job and it was just a matter of when he would be appointed.One of the key figures behind Solskjaer’s appointment was legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and comparisons have been draw between the pair’s style of football.
