Manchester United news: Nemanja Vidic reveals he ‘would like to be manager’ in the future
Nemanja Vidic has revealed he wants to manage Manchester United in the future.Vidic, 37, is widely regarded as one of the club’s best players in the Premier League era, having played exactly 300 times for United in eight-and-a-half years.Nemanja Vidic2
Vidic is a true Manchester United legend
He was club captain from 2010 until he departed Old Trafford four years later, and in his time with the Red Devils Vidic won 10 major honours, including five Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World Cup as well as forming a formidable partnership with Rio Ferdinand. The former Serbia international left United in 2014 for Internazionale of Milan, and two years later he announced his retirement due to consistent injury problems. He remains a legend at Old Trafford, and Vidic has revealed he plans to return to United in the future in a coaching capacity.“If Mourinho keeps winning then me as a fan, I would not be angry if we win 10 games in a row [playing like that],” Vidic told BeIN Sports after his former side were beaten 3-1 in Sunday’s Manchester derby. “To be honest, in the future I would like to be the manager. I would like to think that I know things.“For me to criticise Jose Mourinho, as someone who maybe in the future can become the manager, is not fair.“He is the manager, he has won a lot of trophies.”While Vidic did not want to criticise Mourinho, the current Man United manager, he did say the Portuguese has the club playing a style of football not historically associated with United.Mourinho has been widely criticised for Man United’s style of play2

He continued: “It’s not the Manchester we are used to watching, it’s Mourinho’s Manchester and when he came to Manchester you have to accept that he is the manager who is going to play this kind of football.“It is the kind of football he played at Inter, at Chelsea more or less, and [Real] Madrid maybe it was more open.“At the end of the day that’s Mourinho’s football.”
