Time is running out for Tottenham Hotspur should they wish to do any business in the January transfer window.If the club, who have been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions in the space of four days, amidst an injury crisis, don’t sign anyone for the second window in a row then some supporters might start spitting feathers.12

Already frustrated as their thin squad has, just about navigated as series of huge issues, including the absences of Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli, and others, Harry Kane’s ankle injury has highlighted just how much the club need more options in the squads.Unfortunately due to the amount of players who count as ‘foreign players’ in their ranks, it seems manager Mauricio Pochettino is most likely to turn to young British talent to bolster his group.But who are the options available to the Argentine? talkSPORT.com takes a look at the options below.

Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)

Going back in for the Villan would, one assumes, be the most sensible option. The club clearly like him and have seriously scouted the player given their attempts to land him last summer.Hes spent time out injured this campaign and is currently on the sidelines but would be the sensible option, even if he did cost more than 30million.12

The player himself admitted he was disappointed the deal didnt go through, despite signing a new five-year deal with the club.He would give some extra drive in midfield in the absence of Mousa Dembele who was sold earlier in the month.

Jarrod Bowen (Hull City)

The Tigers youngster, 22, has proved a real breakout hit this campaign having scored 12 goals from right midfield.Not only is Bowen a goalscorer, though, he always contributes defensively which is likely to endear him to Mauricio Pochettino.12

Bowen has come on leaps and bounds.

But, according to Football.London, the club arent going to pursue their interest in this window.

Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham)

Heavily linked with Spurs before the Cottagers promotion to the Premier League, Sessegnon hasnt quite taken to the top flight as was imagined.Hes still young and learning his trade, though, so would be a sensible signing, but its more likely it would happen in the summer if Fulham are relegated back to the Championship.12

Sessegnon could be available in the summer.

Jack Clarke (Leeds United)

Its been reported Spurs have monitored the 18-year-old and on Monday its been suggested he could be the young Brit who Pochettino signs.Hes being eased into action at Elland Road and while he has made 15 appearances, just four have been starts.12

Clarke is being eased into action by manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Still, the youngster has managed two goals and two assists during his 579 league minutes on the pitch.

Bradley Dack (Blackburn Rovers)

As mentioned above, with Dembele gone its vital Spurs find a man to break the lines with dribbles, and who can pick a pass.Dack doesnt quite fit in the young category but his strength on the ball and skill at evading opponents makes him an intriguing option.12

It would be another step up for Dack, who was playing League Two football in 2013 but its likely he would be able to play a role for Tottenham, even if its off the bench.

Che Adams (Birmingham City)

A familiar name to Spurs supporters, Adams was the young striker who gave them an EFL Cup scare back in 2015.Then 18, he hit two goals at Brammall Lane in the second leg of their semi-final tie, but Christian Eriksen struck his second of the game to ensure a 2-2 draw on the night and a 3-2 win on aggregate.12

Adams will be recognisable to Spurs fans.

Now at St Andrews, hes 22 and experiencing his best ever campaign with 14 goals, compared to seven and five in his previous two.He could be a fine homegrown backup to Harry Kane.Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)Likely to cost a lot of money, the Eagles right-back already looks an upgrade on Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.12

Wan-Bissaka has been one of the best right-backs in the Premier League this season.

He contributes at both ends of the pitch and has plenty of potential to get even better, particularly under full-back whisperer Pochettino.Manchester City are also reportedly interested which would throw a spanner in the works.

David Brooks (Bournemouth)

Signed from Sheffield United last summer for 11.5million, the 21-year-old has impressed in his first top flight campaign.Brooks already has five goals to his names, along with three assists, while the fact he plays towards the right would also help give Spurs some much needed balance.12

Brooks has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.

Its unlikely the Cherries will be willing to part with the starlet easily though.

Max Aarons (Norwich City)

Another right-back linked with Spurs previously, its obvious where the club are looking to improve.Arsenal have also expressed interest, if reports are to be believed and why wouldnt they given hes contributed two goals and four assists offensively.His crossing would need to be worked on but his defensive output shows enough potential for a top club to sign him as long-term asset, with a view to replacing their current first-team option.12

Ollie Watkins (Brentford)A strong dribbler who, despite favouring the left wing, is capable of playing across a range of attacking positions, Watkins could be a versatile option for Spurs.Hes also a threat on the counter, which would fit in with Pochettinos philosophy, while his passing is good enough to earn him a part-time role if pursued.12

Watkins has the potential to play in the Premier League.

Southampton are reportedly keen right now but there is no reason why Spurs couldnt hijack any deal and add depth to their squad.

Eberechi Eze (Queens Park Rangers)

If Spurs arent even looking at the 20-year-old Championship starlet, then there is something very wrong at the club.Two-footed, intelligent, and good in possession, hes got huge potential.As an attacking midfielder hes happy to get on the front-foot or dictate play as a no.10.12

Eze has shown his talents this season in the Championship.

He could be the perfect understudy for Christian Eriksen, especially if Pochettino is worried about losing the Dane.
