Frank Lampard admits Darren Moore’s sacking as West Brom boss left him ‘shocked’.The Baggies axed Moore at the weekend, despite sitting fourth in the Championship with ten games left of the season to play.Moore almost engineered amiraculous escape from relegation last term following Alan Pardew’s disastrous reign and was a popular figure at the Hawthorns.In an exclusive interview with Drivetime on Tuesday, Derby County boss Lampard expressed his sympathy for his managerial counterpart’s plight.1

Lampard, whose County side are sitting six points behind West Brom in seventh spot, said: “I was shocked, [with them] being fourth in the table.“From the outside it certainly seems harsh.“I went up against Darren earlier in the season, we won the game and played particularly well – one of our best games – but he was an absolute gentleman.“What he did at the back end of last season meant he certainly deserved the job.
