Norwich respond to Liverpool on Twitter after Reds post video of Luis Suarez’s famous hat-trick goal
Norwich booked their place in the Premier League on Saturday evening before being swiftly reminded of just how hard the top flight is by Liverpool. The Canaries have enjoyed an outstanding season to return to the first division for the first time since 2016, when they were relegated in 19th place. It was party time for Norwich and Daniel Farke on Saturday night1

The Carrow Road club’s best Premier League spell in recent history came between 2011 and 2014.They spent three successive seasons in the top flight, finishing 12th and 11th before dropping to 18th in 2013/14 to be relegated. One of the more memorable aspects of their three-year stay in the Premier League was Norwich’s complete aversion to playing against Luis Suarez, the then Liverpool forward. Suarez just loved scoring against the Canaries, with a truly remarkable record of 12 goals in just six appearances versus the Norfolk club. And just hours after winning promotion with a 2-1 defeat of Blackburn, Norwich were reminded of being thrown around like a rag doll by Suarez and Liverpool during one of their previous adventures in the Premier League. On Sunday morning, Liverpool posted an ‘on this day’ tweet featuring a video of Suarez completing a hat-trick against Norwich back in 2012 with that incredible lobbed goal from 45 yards.Norwich took the opportunity to respond to Liverpool’s tweet in a less than joyous manner.Suarez had left Liverpool by the time of Norwich’s 2015/16 campaign in the Premier League, but they still failed to beat the Reds in either of their two clashes. In fact, the Canaries’ last win against Liverpool came all the way back in 1994, and Daniel Farke will be hoping to end that dreadful record when he comes up against Jurgen Klopp’s side next season.
