Sissoko was once again imperious for Spurs against Man City
Spurs claimed a superb victory over Pep Guardiola’s men in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie thanks to a late strike from Heung-min Son.Sissoko dominated the midfield throughout the match, and former Blues striker Cascarino believes the Frenchman is unaware of the threat he poses to other teams.“Im not sure whether Moussa Sissoko realises how much danger he creates for opponents by taking on his marker,” Cascarino wrote in The Times. “The Tottenham midfielder opened up play brilliantly by beating the likes of Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan last night and it is something he should be doing more often. “Once he gets past a player there is no way he is going to be stopped.“On many of the occasions that Tottenham threatened the Manchester City goal last night it followed Sissoko beating an opponent in the centre of the pitch. “That causes opposing defenders to leave their station to cover, creating space for other Tottenham players.”

Cascarino has also claimed Harry Kane will face lengthy spells out injured every season unless he alters the way he challenges opposition players.Kane, the England captain, could be out for the remainder of 2018/19 having sustained another ankle injury during Tuesday’s match. And Cascarino says the forward must partly blame himselffor the injury.Kane is facing a spell on the sidelinesgetty2

He added: Its fine for a striker to move across to the flanks to block clearances by full backs it was one of my responsibilities throughout my career, after all but Kane should not be lunging in while doing that.He should just be covering and standing up rather than jumping in.He has a history of ankle problems and if he continues to make challenges like that he will be suffering a couple of long injury absences each season.
